How to Make a Header

Hello! Today, I will be showing you how to make a header in less than five minutes. "How do you know it is less than five minutes?" you asked. Well I did mine in 5 minutes. If you are better, you can do it faster and maybe more beautiful. Here is mine:

Lol... you could see it anyway if you'd just scroll up, but you know, just to make this post complete.
Step one:
Download a pattern or a picture you really like, or use your own picture. You can save a picture from here if you like. I downloaded these from Google:

Step two:
Open up a basic photo editing software. Don't use photoshop or Gimp if you are not used to them. I recommend using Picasa or a website called PicMonkey. Click on the link if you'd want to open PicMonkey in a new window.

When you have your software ready, it is time to edit.

  1. Resize your picture. In PicMonkey, there is an option on resizing. Resize it to 1000.
  2. Crop. In PicMonkey, there an option called crop. Crop it into any size you'd like. I recommend using the same dimensions as mine. I forgot the dimensions though.
  3. Brighten the picture. If your picture has to much textures and patterns, brighten it, so that later when you add the texts, the text will be visible.
  4. Add text. Add text saying what is your blog's title, and if you have extra space left, you can add a little description below your title.
  5. Lastly design it. In PicMonkey, there are a lot of stickers you can choose from. Decorate it the way you'd want it to look like.
  6. Add a frame. You can skip this step if you want to, but I recommend adding round transparent  corners. You can do this in PicMonkey.
Step three:
Save it. I recommend saving in a png file if you did the round corner thing. It saves the corners transparent. (under five minutes)

Step four:
Upload it to blogger. I bet you know how already, but if you don't, here is how:

  1. Open the layout section of your blog.
  2. Select edit in the header section of the layout.
  3. Then under placement, check the boxes instead of title and description and shrink to fit.
  4. Then under image, click select and select the image that you saved.
  5. Then click the orange button below that reads "save".
Step five:
Preview it.

Step six:
Save the arrangement.

Step seven:
If you are not happy because the size is not exactly in the middle, resize the width of your blog.

Step eight:
Click "Apply to blog".

Step nine:
If you are not contented with the background and text colors and fonts, change them.

Step ten:
Click "Apply to blog" again, if you changed some fonts and etc.

I made this header for my friend Sophia:
