Ukulele Case

My dad just bought me a case for my uke. It is so awesome. It has got this velvet texture inside too. Although it is not hard, still it is pretty cool. It also has this front pocket for let's say tuner, capo, and such. I love it. Brand? Levys.

Thanks, Pa!

How to Make a Header

Hello! Today, I will be showing you how to make a header in less than five minutes. "How do you know it is less than five minutes?" you asked. Well I did mine in 5 minutes. If you are better, you can do it faster and maybe more beautiful. Here is mine:

Bridge Lee
Lol... you could see it anyway if you'd just scroll up, but you know, just to make this post complete.
Step one:
Download a pattern or a picture you really like, or use your own picture. You can save a picture from here if you like. I downloaded these from Google:

Step two:
Open up a basic photo editing software. Don't use photoshop or Gimp if you are not used to them. I recommend using Picasa or a website called PicMonkey. Click on the link if you'd want to open PicMonkey in a new window.

When you have your software ready, it is time to edit.

  1. Resize your picture. In PicMonkey, there is an option on resizing. Resize it to 1000.
  2. Crop. In PicMonkey, there an option called crop. Crop it into any size you'd like. I recommend using the same dimensions as mine. I forgot the dimensions though.
  3. Brighten the picture. If your picture has to much textures and patterns, brighten it, so that later when you add the texts, the text will be visible.
  4. Add text. Add text saying what is your blog's title, and if you have extra space left, you can add a little description below your title.
  5. Lastly design it. In PicMonkey, there are a lot of stickers you can choose from. Decorate it the way you'd want it to look like.
  6. Add a frame. You can skip this step if you want to, but I recommend adding round transparent  corners. You can do this in PicMonkey.
Step three:
Save it. I recommend saving in a png file if you did the round corner thing. It saves the corners transparent. (under five minutes)

Step four:
Upload it to blogger. I bet you know how already, but if you don't, here is how:

  1. Open the layout section of your blog.
  2. Select edit in the header section of the layout.
  3. Then under placement, check the boxes instead of title and description and shrink to fit.
  4. Then under image, click select and select the image that you saved.
  5. Then click the orange button below that reads "save".
Step five:
Preview it.

Step six:
Save the arrangement.

Step seven:
If you are not happy because the size is not exactly in the middle, resize the width of your blog.

Step eight:
Click "Apply to blog".

Step nine:
If you are not contented with the background and text colors and fonts, change them.

Step ten:
Click "Apply to blog" again, if you changed some fonts and etc.

I made this header for my friend Sophia:

My Sanuk Shoes!!!

Remember my last post? About the Adidas Wings 2.0? Well, I can't stop looking at other Adidas products. I saw these shoes made my Adidas too. It also has wings. I think it looks better. See?

These babies cost around $200!!! I can't afford that. Well, I can, but it will lessen my chance to ever get an iPhone, which I am saving for. I decided to make a similar one.

Today, my mom brought me to Trinoma (a mall) to buy me a new pair of shoes because my old one smells. She said I should buy a brand named Sanuk. They are not shoes. They are sandals.

I bought this black Sanuk. It looks cool. The best part is the laces are not there to secure my feet. They are just there for design, which means the securing job is done with garter. The laces work the same way as usual.

After dreaming about the Adidas shoes for  a lot of hours, I decided to make my own. With my new sandals, not shoes, I was able to make one. Check it out.

It is not bad, is it? I think this is a great craft for those who are fans of Percy Jackson.

Materials needed:

  • pair of shoes with laces (preferably Converse if you want to have that Percy Jackson look)
  • foam craft paper
  • marker. One that works on foam
  • printer
  • paper (letter size)
  • pen
  • pencil
  • scissors

Step 1:

Buy a pair of shoes with laces. Maybe, you can buy one that is Converse.

Step 2:

Print out this template made by someone in Youtube. Print it in a way that the wings will fit perfectly.

When you have your template done, you are off to step 3.

Step 3:

Get your foam craft paper thing. Any color of your choice. Place the template over it. With your pen, pencil, scissors, make a crease by drawing over the lines of the template. By doing this, you will leave a mark on the foam.

Step 4:

Trace the mark with a pencil. Use a flash light to show the shadows of the lines to make it easier.

Step 5:

Trace the pencil with your marker. Be careful not to smudge the marker while it is still wet. I learned that the hard way.

Step 6:

Cut the wings. Leave a 1 centimeter allowance around the wings because that is how Adidas made theirs.

Step 7:

Place your wings over the shoes' lace holes and draw a dot on each place where there is a hole. Then punch the dot with a pen or punch it with a puncher. I used a pen.

Step 8:

Fix your wings in by using the laces to fasten it in.

TADA!!!! you have your very own Adidas inspired shoes. Hope you like it.

TIP:

Make a lot of wings with different kinds of colors, so the next time you go out, you will wear a different color. When white feels boring, use yellow.

Thanks for reading this post.

I decided to be crafty again...

I decided to be crafty again so I searched for Christmas crafts on the internet. Here is the link to the post.

I love this craft so much so I decided to post it. All rights to the writer.

November McKinney Marthas: Christmas Countdown

Tonight our craft club made these Christmas Countdown blocks:

Last year I made this advent calendar while on bed rest. Kate loved counting the days until Christmas and eating a chocolate Kiss each day with breakfast. I was excited for this month’s McKinney Marthas craft because I knew Kate would love changing the blocks each day. As opposed to an advent calendar that marks the days of December, this craft counts the days left until Christmas.
To make your own Christmas countdown, you will need:
* two 3.5″ wood cubes (I had Home Depot cut a 4×4 into cubes. Did you know a 4×4 is actually 3.5″ and not 4″ ? How confusing).
* one wood piece for base measuring 3.5″ wide x 8″ long x 2″ thick (I had Home Depot cut a 2×4 for this. Again, the 2×4 is only 3.5″ wide. Who named that?)
* Mod Podge
* twelve coordinating scrapbook papers cut into 3″ squares
* one 1.5″ x 7.5″ scrapbook paper rectangle
* 2.5″ tall vinyl numbers or stencils (you could also freehand the numbers with a Sharpie)
* 1.25″ tall vinyl word or stencil for base (again you could freehand with a Sharpie. Mine says “Merry Christmas”)

* acrylic craft paint
After you have your materials, let’s get going :)

1.  Paint cubes and base with acrylic paint. Let dry.
2.  Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge on all sides of cubes and place a 3″ square of scrapbook paper right side up on each side. Also apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the front of the base and adhere the 1.5″ x 7.5″ scrapbook paper.

3. Add vinyl numbers or stencil cubes. Important note!!!
For the first block you will need: 0,1,2,3,4,5
For the second block you will need: 0,1,2,6,7,8
Please make sure your number 6 is a font that can be flipped to look like a 9
4. Add your vinyl word or stencil to the base.
5. Add a thin layer of Mod Podge on all sides of the cubes and base! Let dry :)

PS – Quick shout out to Melanie and Leah in Tulsa!

Hi

LIVE WHILE WE'RE YOUNG!!

Ukulele!

I saw this ukulele at this store at Shangrila Plaza. It is so awesome. I got to have it. My dad said he will give it to me as a Christmas resent. I hope he does. I love that UKE.

Google Plus Experience

The Google Plus experience has been a good one, but I have decided to let it go because for one thing, I have a Facebook account. It is only scary to delete it because you might delete  your whole Google name which controls your Blogger account and etcetera, but I did it and deleted it. Yay for me.

Christmas crafts

While I was surfing the web, I decided to be a little bit more crafty and decided to search for crafts that concern about Christmas. I found hundreds of ideas, but only one caught my eye and made me want to do it too. Here is the post. I copy/pasted it here so that you will be able to see how. Guest Post- Stars and Sunshine- DIY Wedding Invitation Christmas Ornaments

Hi, Bear Rabbit Bear Craft readers! My name is Julia and I blog about DIY home decor, crafts, recipes, and more at Stars & Sunshine! I'm really excited Melanie is having me here to share with you all today :)

DIY Wedding Invitation Christmas Ornaments

I got married a year and a half ago, and still love all things wedding-related, especially wedding invitations. I also love Christmas ornaments, so when I saw someone combine the two on pinterest, I knew I had to make some myself. Here's how I did it!

DIY Wedding Invitation Christmas Ornament

Supplies:
  • A hollow glass sphere Christmas ornament
  • A wedding invitation (or other sentimental stationary you're willing to cut up!)
  • A paper cutter or a pair of scissors

Next, cut your invitation into thin strips. I cut the strips so lines of text would be preserved, and only included my favorite pieces. I also included a few pieces I loved from other parts of our wedding invitations : the RSVP card, the program, and the stamps we custom ordered for our invites (I stuck two stamps back-to-back so it would be double sided and not sticky). I used a crochet hook to curl each strip by wrapping it around in a spiral. I liked a spiral where the strip was angled so as not to overlap (techinically a helix) much more than wrapping the paper around itself - the picture above hopefully makes sense if that doesn't :)

Then just put all the pieces into the ornament until it was full but not stuffed - I really like how you get movement when you turn it around or shake it. If you decide you want to take some pieces out or rearrange them, I found needle nose pliers to be very helpful. I tend to hoard wedding invitations (I think I still have every wedding invitation I've received since starting college), but I used one we received for a recent wedding to make an ornament as a wedding gift for them too (to go along with something from their registry). I love how their more formal black and white single layer invitation ornament has a different look than ours!

Haiku

Haiku... such an annoying task, but probably a very nice thing to do to pass the time. Here is how:

  1. First, decide on a topic. Haikus are usually about nature but anything is fine.
  2. When you got your topic, start making your poem. Remember, you need to follow these simple rules:
    • Haikus are made up of only three lines
    • The three lines are made up of five, seven, five syllables. For example:
Hi, I am a boy. (5 syllables)
My name is J.B. Just Bridge. (7 syllables)
I love to blog here. (5 syllables)

So now you know how to make a haiku, why not make one now. When you are done, why not share it with your family and friends.
